Dan told me that the old man (Ken G.) needs to get out and that four of us would tear this place apart.

Let me know when and where, Dan, although this spring has been pathetic because I haven't had much time for anything.
So many trips - so little time.

I can't make any promises. My time is so screwed up. I would not go too early in the year. It's classified as one of the only white water rapids in Illinois during spring and early summer till the rains let up.

It will kill you if you get it wrong.

Go to chitown angler and start looking through older posts by Razzo. I thought it was 2 or 3 years ago, but he did a very detailed post with pictures about this area.

Don't plan around me. Make plans and let me know when you're going.

Hell man, I don't even know what I'm doing next weekend let alone later than that.

We should go out to the Apple.

Guys, either the apple or the vermillion would be fine with me. I would really like to get back to the Apple, it was a blast last year. Plus Ken knows all the spots . I was thinking maybe middle or late may. Weather will probably be a little to unpredictable before then.
You can never fish the same river twice, by the time you get back it's not the same river.

Last week of May to the middle of June on either of those rivers. No guarantees on my part, but if you go to the Apple, I'll draw you maps and give you lots of advice.

I'm going to find that Razzo post on the Vermillion one of these days. It was very good.

Matt,
The link worked fine. That's the one I was thinking of.
I was looking everywhere BUT the Fox forum.
He gives details on how to get there too.

I'll see what I can find out about the Little Vermillion too.

while looking around for more info on the vermillion and little vermillion i came across the Middle Fork of the Vermillion located near danville. It runs through Kickapoo State Park. This fork of the Vermillion is supposed to be one of if not the cleanest river in illinois. Its the only river in illinois that is designated "National Scenic River" by the United States department of Interior.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Middle Fork? Its about 3 hours away but it will probably be worth the trip.
