Les Arends
I was out for a bit Tuesday evening and I noticed the water up a bit from Saturday. I also came to the conclusion that on a cloudy day there was not much of an increase in the bite as the sun set. Caught 4 small- smallies all on a jig and grub, green -pepper. Last week as soon as the sun got behind the trees the bite started to pick-up. Just a little bit of observation from where I'm standing...... Not lurking

Uhhh, it's not Tuesday evening yet. You mean last Tuesday old man or yesterday, which would be Monday.Fishin Musician wrote:I was out for a bit Tuesday evening and I noticed the water up a bit from Saturday..... Not lurking
The river flow went up about 11 cfs since Saturday.
You missed the Quest. I was relying on you to bring a bucket of leeches.
Been a real odd year. Was at North Aurora Monday evening and the bite simply didn't exist.
I'm used to at least having the opportunity to complain about all the fish I didn't set a hook on, but this time I can't even do that.
And you're always lurking. At least that's what all your neighbors tell me.

Quit talking with the Neighbors.... No wonder the college girl next door started closing her blinds!!! You are right again Ken it WAS >>Monday and the bite died down a lot from Saturday. Do you like the strech before the river?/ The turn by the island or downstrem heading to the cliffs better? Inquiring minds want to know... (ME!!). I also stopped fishing live-bait , and have become a purist, at least until the water gets below 55 degrees, have had too many times when the bite was on artificials to bother caring live bait. Sorry I missed Sunday, it would have been a hoot to fish with you again. Kevin PS. Just so you know ... A Fox river Genius told me Black Grubs won't work on the Fox.... I bet YOU know what I'm throwing!!!
I am Kevin Summers and I have a Fishin Addiction....

The first one mentioned the most, the second is second best and include the turn into the big pool by the cliffs.
Fishing the cliffs is a stroll. You can pick apart the cliffs, but out in the open water you're just hoping for the best. Problem is there are quite a few fish sitting in the ups and downs of the open water. Anything you can throw that will scrape the bottom is best. Since you're a bit shorter than me, you might get on your toes now and then out in that open water.
1/16th ounce jigs are too light too. But what do I know.
Just pay attention here. I usually post where I'm going to be. I know how busy we all get, that's why I don't bug people with phone calls. Show up if you can.
Times running out this year. With my leaking waders I have a feeling my colder water days will be numbered. Cabelas will probably replace them for free, but it will take over 2 weeks there and back. No point giving up 2 good weeks of fishing. I'll return them in the winter.

why do people wear wet waders? If you want to fish dry...breakdown and buys some Simms...they last forever and don't end up in a landfill.

Just moved back here from Montana and have enjoyed reading the posts....thanks for letting me in. Am always looking to play some music and wondered who Fishin Musician is...always ready to play or fish...usually with a fly rod, but some of the deeper water calls for spinning. Haven't drowned yet...there's always tomorrow.

Tried to do a RedemptionQuest with Alex (my son) this morning. Bigger bite than last weekend. but only 5 smallies between us and half dozen misses. Think the rain last night might have cooled the bite a bit. Nothing caught worth wasting bits and bytes of digital camera. But it is STILL such a beautiful spot to fish!
