Ok so technically they are "dams" but that wouldn't work with the thread title now...would it?=)

I am admittedly not a fan but I can respect the fact that for some guys these are the end all be all of the quintessential sportfisherman.
So for those that care the Eyes seem to be on the move towards the dams and feeding aggressively.

Note the look of disdain on my face

These are to me as Green Carp are to Blu...er...I mean Red...you know that guy that talks funny.

Of course the best one came out over exposed...

...meh.

The two most effective lures were also fairly convincing to dink smallies...
1/8th oz jig with a White and Black Cabelas brand twister..

...and a Rapala Orig Floater in Purpledescent.

Presentation for both was to just cast downstream and hang them in the current.

A thread on here got me thinking about a lure I picked up a couple years ago...
Image

...it's been benched in a tackle box as it runs too deep for the areas I mainly fish...but with the water up I figured I'd give it a shot.

Interesting to note that with this lure hanging it in the current was not at all productive but casting upstream and burning it back as fast as possible seemed to trigger some agressive strikes.

As far as quantity I couldn't have expected more productivity for the few days I was out...but in light of the fact that I've subjected you all to a rare post full of dink fish...here's a picture of a squirrel.
Enjoy

Theory is the gills are on the move up the river for those that missed that thread.
It's a sound theory learned from a fisheries biologist who also happens to fish a lot.
Seriously considered fishing this afternoon. There's some day light left. We'll see.

Eat the smallies, throw back the walleye. :) :) :)

MMmmmmm, squirrel.
Squirrel stew.
Fried squirrel.
Squirrel soup.
Linguini and squirrel sauce.
Linguini and squirrel alfredo.

mmmmm.

I gave up on explaining that stuff to people. It's also why I won't wet wade. You learn things when you're involved with every conservation group on the river, and then some.

Didn't want to muddy up the post on the other site with a camera question.
Noticed in that older post the Canon Elph. That's what I just replaced. It was showing it's age. 2.1 megapixel.
You're waterproof case looks like the newer version. A little slimmer than what I have.
Is that what you still use? That would explain the Vaseline on the lens look. I used to get that. Something to do with the flash and the case. Didn't always like it.

What did you have attached to the lens?

Mine still works, just needs a new battery. I should sell the whole thing for cheap to someone that wants a good fishing camera.

I think I got mine in 2001 for $499. Case was mis-marked at $50, was supposed to be $150.
Now you can pick up a good digital that does a better job for $100.
Just don't drop it in the water. :D :D

My Canon Elph SD-400 is only 5.0 megapixels but I kinda like the pictures it takes. Only digital I've ever owned.

The case is the AW-DC30 all weather case and it has been a lifesaver many a time.

The thing on the lens is a diffuser to reduce reflection on the interior of the case when using the flash.
Probably the "vaseline look" is due to the fact that I have never ever even wiped the thing down...let alone thoroughly cleaned it. I'm a bit reluctant to remove the screws and clean the interior of the lens covering but it definitely needs it bad.
As you can tell from the picture.

As far as the comments about what's worse to eat and all that...like I said...
"No offense of course to the guys that do eat things from the Fox...to each their own and more power to ya blah blah blah."

Really no need to defend/justify your right to consume what you want...I seriously could care less and am unwavering in my stance.

Here's another one to keep your mouth watering...
