Ken I see you want to scout

That's what this one is about. If you're planning on fishing and want company, put that here. If the fish talk you have to say doesn't fit anywhere else, that can go here too.

Ken I see you want to scout

Post by smallmouthfisher »

Well this is a place I tested the water...

http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v ... vl=1&sty=b

I read the state record rock bass was caught from here. I want to take an all day wade south all the way to the mouth of the IL.. I need someone to go with.. stories are this area is haunted

Minooka/Morris - Aux Sable Cemetery

Aux Sable Cemetery - when you enter if you stop and turn of your car you will be visited by sprits on the bridge before enter the cemetery. Fires have been started mysteriously. The old grave keepers house has tunnels under it two go to some where and the third has a gate to hell supposedly. There have been many sightings on paranormal activity. Paranormal activity includes the locking of car doors, fogging up of windows, and the entrance being blocked while attempting to leave. Police do not want visitors there.
Aux Sable is located in the countryside between Morris and Minooka.

Well keep me posted is you wanted to explore. When I was there in the summer I just messed around under the IM Canal. The bottom was silty and small rocks and the water was a nice easy flow.. Lots of boulders north of the road I parked. I picked up a few nice smallies but tons of Rockies. I did come past an older man with a bucket full of small walleyes he was getting them off Jig with minnow

I just found that cemetery on a map today.
If I do the Tinley show, I drove past this on the way last year. I may do some more driving around this time.

Maybe I'll go live in the trailer park just up stream from the cemetery. Then I'll always have access.

No such things as ghosts you know. Would have seen them by now. Ehhh. Okay I take that back. Brain cramp. I lived in a haunted house.

I meant to go explore this last year, but with the Fox and it's creeks so close, I never did. I did check out the forest preserve upstream. Typical Illinois slightly mud bottom prairie creek.

You would think that anything that lives in the Illinois would migrate up a creek/river. True pretty much all up and down the Illinois. Where do you think all those big Mazon smallies are coming from.

One of my co-workers lives along the banks of the Aux Sable. We have the green light to park there and access through his property if it is of any interest to anybody.

He lives in Minooka, I'll get a general area and post a map.

He fishes a little hole near an oxbow and gets rock bass, smallmouth, and walleye for his fish frys.

I think I saw that on the map. Of course, I just went looking for it and can't find it. The area I looked at and forgot about last year is on East Minooka Road. Looked good. But like I said, up stream at 52 it was a muddy little creek. Beautiful, but creepy to wade.

I'm in. We'll have to line this up.

Put your map in the I'ma goin' fishin' section.

We're giving away too much. I'ma gonna move this.

Gravel, then silt, more gravel, more silt. You never knew how deep the silt was going to be.

He lives off Doral St. It's on the southeast side of Rt. 80 just south of Minooka Rd.

Not sure how much parking would be available, but it's a starting point......

That's the spot I was joking about when I said I'm going to go live in the trailer park up stream.

Doral Street Trailer Park

There really is just too much water to fish.
