Showing Jake MY CHUB at HC

Post by smallmouthfisher »

So Jake and I went out to HC today. We started around 830ish. We were smart and planned a long wade so we parked a car at our end point and Jake drove to the starting point. We were both using our fly rod and I was on a mission to get "some stank on my fingers". I ending up giving Jake a fly I tied the other day and we both started off with that. I would say it was a fun day. We landed over a Dozen and a half fish each. Nothing to brag about but still better then Andrews 1 fish. We fished around New Lenox and then I wanted to try a spot west of Briggs and worked our way back up to Briggs Bridge. This area would have been good with a jig and twister lots of deep pools and dead fall but nothing much for us with our fly rods. I would rate the New Lenox wade 99% but no smallies :? . On our trip past Briggs I did promise Jake homeless people and we seen like 3 or 4 campsites. But here are the pictures so enjoy.

One of these days I'm going to make it down there.
Surprised to see so many little ones. The creek I hit off the Fox the other day was devoid of fish.
Wonder if they winter over somewhere in there.
